We advise in the general and in tax planning for retirement, whether that is preparing the business for sale, passing it on to the next generation (family or management buyout teams), or winding up the business in a tax-efficient manner.
As a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), we specialise in assisting clients with their inheritance tax planning for asset protection as well as wealth management, working alongside the clients’ solicitors and other financial advisers to ensure that wills are written in the most tax-efficient manner.
We act for a number trusts and registered charities, supporting the trustees in their day-to-day administration and ensuring compliance with the relevant legislation under the Charities Act and tax legislation.
Val Buzzard
Born and bred in Banbury, Val has worked in local accountancy practices throughout her career. After 20 years as a partner in a previous mid-sized firm Val set up Buzzard’s Accountancy in 2021 to return to a closer working relationship with her clients.
She works with her clients to achieve their current and future objectives and to ensure that a realistic view is taken of today’s personal needs whilst taking into account the long-term planning of the family wealth.
When not advising her clients she is often on her travels in her motorhome with her husband visiting the local countryside or the mountains and coasts of Europe.
Will Fowler
Born in Oxfordshire, and based in Banbury, Will studied Mathematics at the University of Warwick and graduated with First Class Honours.
Having trained locally as a Chartered Accountant he joined Val at Buzzard’s in early 2022. During his studies with ICAEW he was recognised for the joint 10th highest average marks in his cohort, and with STEP for the highest marks in a Trusts and Estate’s exam and distinctions in the majority of his papers.
Outside of work Will enjoys walking his Welsh springer spaniel, Archie, in the Oxfordshire countryside with his wife.

Alison Anson
Alison has a vast experience of working in industry and accountancy practices in various financial roles over the last 30 years.
Having originally qualified as an accountant, this lapsed in recent years whilst bringing up her family and caring for relatives.
Alison joined Buzzard’s in 2024 working remotely from her home in Pembrokeshire where she now lives and enjoys the ability to walk and explore the area, whilst learning more about photographing this beautiful part of the country.
Based in Banbury, Oxfordshire and covering the neighbouring counties of Warwickshire, Northamptonshire and the Cotswolds our clients are also globally based from London, Channel Islands, mainland Europe, New Zealand and USA. With todays technology there is no limit on the geographical spread of our clients.
